Qualifications

Individuals

Less than $15,315 ($1,276 monthly)

Valued less than $11,710

Married, living together

Less than $20,535 ($1,711 monthly)

Valued less than $23,410


* Income limits may be higher in certain situations — apply if you are within $2000 of the above quoted annual amounts.
+Excluded are $1500 per person for burial expenses, the house where you reside, vehicles, jewelry.

Automatically eligible for ‘extra help’ are those:

  • With full Medicaid benefits
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Who get help to pay Medicare premiums; i.e., QMB, SLMB, QI
