Recertification

Serving Food Safely in South Dakota is Good Business is a recertification course developed by the SDSU Cooperative Extension Service. The curriculum meets the new requirements of a three hour course followed by an assessment and evaluation. The participants must only complete and review the assessment; they do not need to have a passing score. This course is approved by the SD Department of Health Office of Health Protection.

Participating in a full 8-hour ServSafe (TM) course and not taking the exam also qualifies for recertification.

Why Attend
South Dakota food service establishments are required to have at least on person on staff who has passed an 8-hour food service training and certification program. Every four years this certification needs to be renewed. This standard is met by taking a four hour approved certification course. This course has been approved by the South Dakota Department of Health Office of Health Protection.

Registration deadline is normally 10 days to 2 weeks prior to course. Course will be cancelled if less than 10 participants are registered. Refunds will be given if the course is cancelled, participants may transfer to another location. If participants cancels and course books have been sent, refunds will not be granted. You may send someone in your place. Course books are mailed the day of the registration deadline.
